As an asset finance business that specialises at lending for motorsport and multiple other sectors, we were delighted to support the current owner’s acquisition of the car and we on hand as a key partner the first time it was raced in anger in Masters Endurance Legends.
The new owner, Chris Perkins, is a collector of historic racing cars and Moorgate was able to help him manage his assets to release capital in the most efficient way possible to fund the purchase of this exceptional BR-01 LMP2.
He chose former British Touring Car racer Will Powell – who Moorgate has consistently supported over multiple seasons – to partner him and get the LMP2 car up to speed in its first outing during a busy Silverstone Festival weekend with very limited track time.
The result was two P7 finishes in class, complete reliability throughout and increasing pace throughout the weekend as the team got to grips with the car on its first runs.
Moorgate is looking forward to seeing Will and Chris racing together more in the Masters Historics, bringing a dream to reality for Chris to race historic Le Mans machinery.
