Young farmers are the future of British agriculture. But they’re entering the industry at one of the most uncertain times it has ever faced.
That’s why we want to be there from the very start.
We’re proud to announce that Moorgate Finance has become an official partner of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) for 2026–27. NFYFC is the largest rural youth organisation in the UK. It brings together 23,000 members across more than 560 clubs and 47 county federations in England and Wales.
Over the coming year, we’ll be investing in key projects, educational resources and opportunities for young farmers across England and Wales.
Why we’re backing young farmers
It’s no secret that farming is going through a difficult period. Legislation is changing quickly, government schemes like the Sustainable Farming Incentive can be hard to navigate, and farmers are often expected to make long-term buying decisions before short-term funding is in place.
For young people just entering the sector, that can feel like an unfamiliar world.
We believe a strong, educated and well-funded farming sector matters to the whole country. We’re committed to keeping food production in the UK, which is why we back both today’s farmers and the next generation coming through.
For us, this partnership is about more than finance. It’s about building long-term relationships, understanding the real challenges young farmers face and backing them at every stage.
What the partnership will deliver
Our investment will support NFYFC’s programme of work throughout the membership year, delivering real benefits for members. Over the next 12 months we’ll:
- Help fund key NFYFC projects and opportunities for members
- Draw on our farming-sector expertise to develop business resources and guidance for young farmers
- Offer expert financial guidance to members and their families as they progress through their careers
- Sponsor and present the Aspiring Rural Leader Award at the YFC Achiever Awards on 12 December 2026 at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham
We want young farmers to see us as more than a finance partner but as a trusted source of support they can rely on.
How we can help
Many of our agricultural team come from farming backgrounds. We understand seasonal income, the value of your assets and how a farm business really works, so you’ll deal with people who speak your language.
From our offices in Towcester and Cambridge, we work with farmers and agricultural businesses across the UK. We’ve helped clients refinance older equipment and machinery, fund diversification projects and more. Our solutions include:
- Machinery and equipment: new, used or refinanced, through hire purchase or leasing
- Livestock finance: funding built around herd and flock requirements
- Cash flow and working capital: covering inputs, rent, wages and the unexpected
- Land purchase and tenancy right to buy: taking the next step on land and infrastructure
- Diversification and renewable energy: from farm shops and holiday lets to renewables projects
